シーンはsceneで、themeはテーマ、ドイツ語でthema

近年、アプリの設定やCSS関係でよく見かける単語theme、日本語ではテーマ、主題ですが、英語の発音はシームですね。

一方、日本語のシーン、場面は、英語ではsceneとなります。

テーマはどこから来たのか調べてみると、ドイツ語のthemaからなのだそうです。

なるほど、近い単語が、英語とドイツ語でミックスしていたのですね。

さらに、体系、企画のスキーム、scheme (schema) という単語もあります。

混乱しそうになってきたので、英語の意味をそれぞれGoogle翻訳から転記しておきます。

• scene: the place where an incident in real life or fiction occurs or occurred. a sequence of continuous action in a play, movie, opera, or book.
• theme: the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person's thoughts, or an exhibition; a topic.
• scheme: a large-scale systematic plan or arrangement for attaining some particular object or putting a particular idea into effect.
